Before choosing your wedding vendor make sure you try to find out who has used their service before or better still ensure you are getting a fantastic money saving offer.

The most annoying wedding vendor in Nigeria is usually the caterer and believe me most brides do not even get to meet the caterer at all, from my experience, I will advice you attend one of your caterers scheduled event before you decide to take him/her on. You can also decide to go on with the contract if you have lots of referrals that you are comfortable with.

My wedding caterer messed up both the engagement and the wedding, thanks to back up from aunties and my nan. She wouldn’t even give the MoH food for the couple, she was only lucky I wasn’t a bridezilla…lol

Another wedding vendor that messed up was the Limo rental company. They did not provide the service and wouldn’t give a refund until we went to their office with uniform men- believe me this can only happen in Nigeria.

Before you all start thinking all my wedding vendors messed up, I actually had the opportunity of working with some fantastic vendors. To be honest my make-up artist was the best, she was highly professional, punctual, soft spoken and understood my needs and to top it all she is fantastic at her job. I will recommend her to everyone I know and do not know. Her name is Lolade- Dainty Affairs

This website is my all time favourite. I find everything about it exciting and interesting. Even though the wedding happened in 2006, I still go back ever so often to check it out.

To show how crazy people are about this site, hardly will you find any wedding website today that doesn’t have a bit of DiandDee’s concept.

The colours of the website are very warm and subtle. I was so moved by the proposal story that I shed a tear while reading it; I’m a bit emotional though so maybe that was why.

Most of the pictures were taken by a professional photographer and this is of course because the groom has a keen interest in photography as he is a professional photographer himself. Check out his blog and some of his pictures at www.dotunsblog.com.

I particularly love the wedding and honeymoon pictures the most. Diwura’s dress was absolutely gorgeous, I know I’m beginning to sound like I know her personally right, but I just can’t help it because I’m a big fan…lol

My favourite song on the website is “My Endless Love” by Diana Ross and Lionel Ritchie; I connect with this song anytime I hear it.

The only word that describes this website for me is WiCkEd!

Everything I have written so far is based on my personal opinion, please let me know your thoughts on this

Most of the pictures were taken by a professional photographer and this is of course because the groom has a keen interest in photography as he is a professional photographer himself.
I particularly love the wedding and honeymoon pictures the most.
This website is my all time favourite. I find everything about it exciting and interesting. This is one of the first nigerian wedding websites I came across and even though the wedding happened in 2006, I still go back ever so often to check it out.

This is the first series of posts where I will be giving a review of Nigerian wedding websites. The goal is to compile a list of the best websites out there all voted by you of course.

The first website I will be reviewing is from Bunmi & Bolade at www.bunmiandbolade.com . They just got married on the 7th of November in North Carolina, so as I am writing this, it is about 3 days ago.

The website looks professionally done and it has a futuristic feel to it. It has got round edges and sliding windows like you would see in a science fiction movie.

Bolade’s proposal story was fun to read. I personally feel he put himself under a lot or pressure by letting his fiancee’s family know he was going to propose just minutes before he did. Well it all turned out okay in the end.

The pictures on the site are really nice, there were some professionally taken ones and amateur photos so that is a good mix. The gallery was kind of slow to load though but patience is a virtue as they say, right? There are no pictures of the wedding as they got married 3 days ago but I am guessing we shall see some when all the wedding rush is over.

The music on the site is mellow. A mix between Naija vibes (Oloo mi – Tosin Martins) and R&B (Luther Vandross – So amazing) and others

All in all, very well done. Head on over to the site www.bunmiandbolade.com and check it out. Don’t forget to come back and vote for it if you like it and let me know what you think about the site by leaving a comment, I look forward to hearing them. And lastly, if you have a website and you want me to do a review on it, add the link in the comments

You getting engaged will definitely be one of the most memorable and exciting moments in your life. For the first few weeks after the proposal, you are both filled with happiness and are eager to share the proposal story with anyone that cares to listen. You’ve met the man or woman you want to spend your life with, and you’ve decided to get hitched. Now it’s time to plan the official celebration of your love and commitment- the wedding.

As you plan this wonderful day, you both will continue to feel great happiness, with possibilities of being nervous and a little confusion. After all, organising a big ceremony can be an overwhelming task. There will be questions about anything and everything: from the meal, to the wedding dress and issues about budget but amidst all these you need to remember the day is about the celebration of love.

Stay focused, and be organised without driving yourselves crazy in the process. Welcome ideas from friends and family delegate responsibilities to friends and family that offer to help- you can not do it all. Try not to worry about things going wrong before they actually go wrong- don’t get worked up about every little detail and have a bit of laid-back attitude; it does make things go smoothly. Avoid postponing every thing you have to do so things don’t pile up as this will only leave you stressed and unhappy.

On your big day smile at people, dance till you drop…lol, Kiss your husband so much that people won’t stop talking about it. Just have fun, after all it is your wedding and it’s got to be all about you that day.

My name is Kemi and I’m a wedding site freak…lol. To say I have spied on at least 40 different sites is not an exaggeration. After stalking other people’s wedding site for so many years, I can reasonably conclude that my time is here. I love everything about weddings especially naija weddings and just spying on other people’s happy moments makes me normal… (What a confession) Even though I spied a lot on other people’s weddings I was never obsessed about getting married and never really thought about my own wedding, all I ever thought about was others… (Don’t ask me why)

I’m currently planning my wedding with Cala Lillies and while planning my wedding I realised information was not really easy to come by especially if you do not live in Nigeria and you are planning to get married there. So I’ve decided to share some of my wonderful ideas and vendors with other Brides to be (b2b)

I’ll be sharing ideas on, finding the right wedding dress, underwear dilemma especially for busty brides (like me..lol), the right jewellery, shoes, Bags, venue, wedding favours, cake, wedding colours, caterer ,honeymoon ideas, gift ideas for your groom…..the list is endless and please feel free to add to the list if you feel there is something missing and feel free to ask questions or even start up a discussion.

Love
